The Nazareth Team at St Mary’s Catholic School supports and inspires children aged 6 to 8 years old as they continue to grow academically, socially and spiritually. At this stage of learning, our students develop greater independence, curiosity and confidence as they explore new ideas and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
The name Nazareth reminds us of the holy family and their life of love, service and faith. In honour of Jesus. Mary and Joseph, we strive to create a caring and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to grow in faith and wisdom.
We follow a Structured Literacy approach, ensuring that each child builds strong foundational skills in reading, writing and oral language. Learning across the curriculum is designed to foster creativity, problem-solving and collaboration, enabling every learner to reach their full potential.
Faith is at the centre of all we do. Guided by the scripture “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13), we encourage our students to follow Jesus in their words and actions. Reflecting the Religious Education Curriculum, our Nazareth Team journey embraces being welcomed, loved and inspired — fostering a community where every child feels valued, cared for and motivated to grow in faith and learning.
